Easy Whole Wheat Bread

*makes two loaves

3 cups warm water
1 T yeast
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup honey (I used Agave Nectar)
1 T salt
5 - 6 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add oil, then honey (it slips out of the measuring cup easier this way), and salt. Slowly add flour until beater bar scrapes the sides of the bowl clean. Let dough mix for ten minutes. Let dough rise in bowl for 30 minutes (optional). Punch and divide dough into 2 loaves, shape and place in greased bread pans. Let loaves rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

*For about half of the flour I used White Whole Wheat Flour (not white, refined flour, whole wheat flour made from White Wheat instead of Red Wheat) which made it SO soft and delicious!

  1. i'm making this with my kids tomorrow!!! oh and i love healthy recipes with the word "easy" in the title!

  2. Your bread is SO good! I hope I can recreate it because that was the best bread I've ever had. Thanks for sharing!

  3. the first time i made this, i used half wheat and half white flour, baked for 25 minutes and it was under cooked. however, it did make delicious toast.
today i used 6c. whole wheat flour and baked for 28 minutes. it was still a tiny bit under cooked.
next time i'm using 6c.whole wheat flour again and baking for 30 minutes. that should make it perfect. ;)
